Foreign media reported this morning, with BHP Billiton to buy the world's largest fertilizer producer Potash Corporation of Canada, Rio Tinto also raise the stakes. Company plans to jointly bid for Chinese partners.
Canada's "Globe and Mail newspaper," citing anonymous sources, as the company's relationship with Chinese enterprises continue to improve, Rio Tinto is considering a joint bid for Potash Corporation of Chinese enterprises.
According to inside sources, Potash Company of Sinopec Group is one of the companies contacted. Previously widely considered to be contact with the Potash Corporation of Brazil, CVRD has withdrawn from bidding.
Earlier reports said, Potash Corporation announced that it has with other potential buyers in talks to acquire. This is to put pressure on BHP Billiton, to force the latter made more than 39 billion U.S. dollars offer.
Potash last week formally rejected BHP Billiton's takeover offer 130 U.S. dollars per share, the company said it hopes that more buyers to join its fight for ownership. (Bai Hong)
