Baltic Exchange dry bulk freight index. BADI seventh consecutive day on Wednesday due to seasonal decline in shipping activity to reduce and panamax lower drag.
Baltic Dry Freight index decreased 22 points, or 1.17 percent to 1856 points. The index measures the iron ore, cement, grain, coal and fertilizer transportation costs.
Baltic's panamax index. BPNI 2.16% decline in average daily earnings dropped to $ 13,742 ships which type of ship typically carrying capacity of 6-7 ten thousand tons of cargo is shipped mainly coal and grain.
The index sharply higher last week due to the increase in grain transport activity, but analysts said this time of year is not true.
"It looks like only a temporary increase. Panamax index indicates that the next two weeks will be weak market conditions." Greece's shipping brokerage firm Intermodal George Lazaridis said.
Analysts said the overall index has been shipping coal and iron ore down to very low impact activities.
