The world's largest liquefied natural gas company president and CEO of Qatar Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa Al-Thani on October 28 at the Singapore International Energy Week , said that although the U.S. shale gas production is expected to increase rapidly to market influential , but the international natural gas market by 2015 will remain tight supply situation.

Al-Thani at the Singapore International Energy Week keynote speech , said that this is because natural gas demand growth in the next two years will remain , but the supply will not make significant changes .

He said natural gas as a new clean energy increasingly important. Over the past 10 years, the average annual global energy demand growth of 2.5 %, while outside the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development economies, demand for natural gas is more an annual growth rate of 4% .

Al-Thani said that the Asian markets understood the importance of Qatargas , the company has been working with the market to establish long term relationships , but also try to choose a long-term contract . Japan has always been one of our core markets in recent years, China's importance is also growing, companies and other enterprises cooperation with CNOOC more . In Southeast Asia, the company is working with Qatargas to actively expand cooperation in natural gas terminal operations in Singapore .
