Data released by the national development and Reform Commission website in June 29th showed that in May, the added value of the chemical industry increased by 4.1% over the same period last year, and the growth rate increased by 1.2 percentage points over the same period. In the main chemical products, the production of ethylene decreased by 4.5%, the output of primary plastic, synthetic rubber and synthetic fiber increased by 6.6%, 10.9% and 9.3% respectively, the production of caustic soda decreased by 0.8%, the production of soda increased by 3.2%, the output of chemical fertilizer decreased by 5.7%, the nitrogen fertilizer decreased by 9.5%, phosphate fertilizer and potassium fertilizer increased by 0.7% and 15.7%, and the yield of pesticides was 0.7% and 15.7%, respectively. Down 11.7%; rubber tyre output increased by 1.7%; calcium carbide output decreased by 3.1%.

In 1-5 months, the added value of the chemical industry increased by 3.6% compared to the same period last year, and the growth rate dropped 1 percentage points year-on-year. Among the main products, ethylene production was 7 million 530 thousand tons, down 0.7%. Primary plastic production increased by 34 million 720 thousand tons, an increase of 4.5%; synthetic rubber output increased by 2 million 260 thousand tons, an increase of 9.4%; synthetic fiber production increased by 17 million 710 thousand tons, increasing by 5.8%. Caustic soda production 14 million 370 thousand tons, down 0.4%; soda ash output 10 million 490 thousand tons, an increase of 3.2%. The output of fertilizer was 23 million 290 thousand tons, down 8.1%, among which nitrogen fertilizer, phosphate fertilizer and potash fertilizer decreased by 9.5%, 4.3% and 3.7% respectively. The output of pesticide was 1 million 110 thousand tons, down by 11.1%. The output of rubber tyre was 361 million 820 thousand, an increase of 0.2%. The output of calcium carbide was 10 million 500 thousand tons, up by 0.7%.

Some of the key chemical products monitored by the company are higher than those of last month. In May, the average price of caustic soda was 4250 yuan per ton, down 4.7% from the previous month, 25% higher than that of the same period, 2050 yuan per ton of soda, 3.5% higher than last month, and 17.1% higher than last year. Urea 1980 yuan / ton, an increase of 2.1% over last month, up 23.8% over the same period last year; domestic diammonium phosphate 2570 yuan / ton, down 2.7% from last month, up 3.6% over the same period last year. Calcium carbide 2910 yuan / ton, up 1.4% last month, up 15% over the same period last year.
