The third season pesticide products quality spot test proclamation of Shandong provincial quality supervision and inspection bureau suggests that among 15 batches of pesticide and herbicide from 15 companies, average qualified goods rate reaches 93.3%.

This spot test finds major unqualified index are effective component content, suspension rate and water content. Effective component content is a key index for pesticide quality. Insufficient effective component content will directly impact drug effect and lead to production quantity decrease. Suspension rate also is a key index that directly impact drug effect. Low suspension rate will lead to spray unevenly, block spray head even do harm to crop. Water content is a limit index. Especially for powder pesticide, a little high water content will lead to product agglomeration and fluidity lowering. Much high water content may accelerate effective component analysis so product quality and drug effect lower.

Aiming at the problems found in the spot test, the bureau has demanded relevant city quality supervision and inspection departments strictly handle unqualified product companies by law and make companies correct the problem in a limit time. At the same time, the bureau will further strengthen this kind of product supervision and inspection work and ensure unqualified product mustn’t be permitted to leave factory and preserve farmers’ benefit.
