On September 8, the commemorative meeting of the 60th Anniversary of the Development of Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry sponsored by the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association was held in the Great Hall of the People. In the past 60 years, China's grain production has increased from less than 200 million tons to more than 600 million tons under the condition of little change in the sown area of grain crops. The per capita grain output and the output per unit area have also achieved steady growth. This is closely related to the development and growth of China's nitrogenous fertilizer industry. Nitrogen fertilizer, as the most widely used fertilizer, plays an important role in ensuring national food security, social stability and the sustained and rapid development of the national economy.

Wang Jiangping said that in 1958, the first set of small nitrogenous fertilizer test facility was built in China. After 60 years of development, China's nitrogen fertilizer industry has made great strides in terms of production scale, technological progress, structural adjustment, energy conservation and emission reduction. As the most widely used fertilizer in agricultural production, nitrogen fertilizer industry has made outstanding contributions in ensuring food security. At the same time, nitrogen fertilizer products play an increasingly important role in the industrial fields such as boiler flue gas desulfurization and denitrification, diesel and gasoline emissions control, home building materials manufacturing. The nitrogenous fertilizer industry has consistently upheld the idea of technological innovation. The development history of nitrogenous fertilizer industry is also a history of technological progress. Without the coal gasification technology of synthetic ammonia, there would be no great achievements in modern coal chemical industry. In recent years, a large number of advanced and practical new fertilizer varieties have emerged in the nitrogen fertilizer industry. Domestic technology has promoted the development of the industry.

Li Shousheng pointed out at the meeting that China's nitrogen fertilizer industry has made tremendous contributions to solving the problem of the Chinese people's eating. Especially in the past decade, the nitrogenous fertilizer industry has actively promoted technological innovation, energy conservation and emission reduction, structural adjustment, and maintained a rapid and stable development trend. New steps have been taken in transformation and upgrading: new breakthroughs have been made in technological innovation, further optimization of raw material structure, positive progress in product structure adjustment, remarkable results in energy conservation and emission reduction, and diversified development. Over the past 60 years, the development of China's nitrogen fertilizer industry has guaranteed China's food security, achieved a large number of technological innovations, nurtured and expedited a number of advanced enterprises, made positive progress in the transformation and upgrading of the industry, and trained a large number of outstanding personnel. He stressed that although China is a big country in the world in the production and consumption of nitrogen fertilizer, it is not a strong country. Compared with the advanced chemical fertilizer and chemical enterprises in the world, there is still a gap. The development of China's nitrogen fertilizer industry is still facing many problems. In order to build a powerful nitrogenous fertilizer industry, the nitrogenous fertilizer industry must exert all-round efforts in the aspects of moderate enterprise scale, technical level upgrading, product variety optimization and industrial restructuring. The key points of future industry development are as follows: first, to focus on the solution of excess capacity, to focus on optimizing the industrial structure; second, to improve the industrial structure.
